Scott is the founding pastor of Grace Community Church. Before he began Grace in 1993, he served as a youth pastor for ten years. He was raised in Nashville and came to faith in Christ as a high school student. He graduated from Belmont College in 1985 and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1989. Scott is married to Beth and has two married daughters, Emily and Hannah, and two granddaughters. Scott’s primary calling in the church is to lead the congregation by casting a biblical vision for all of life through the preaching of God’s word. Brad joined the staff of Grace in January 2018 after 10 years serving in program evaluation and accountability with the federal government and the State of South Carolina. He married Emily in 2009 and they have two sons. Brad serves as the organizational leader and manager for the church staff and ministries.
Elaine has been a member of Grace since the first year, and joined the church staff in July of 2015. After graduating from Baylor University (B.S.) and University of Houston (M.A.) she worked as a speech-language pathologist for 25 years. Elaine has also served as a speaker, writer, and editor for various ministries and publications, and has worked to promote English and literacy in Nashville’s refugee community since 2004. She is married to David Atchison, and has three adult children and one grandson. Her current role is to oversee the servant teams that provide care for church members.
Josh came to Grace in May of 2009. He graduated from Union University in 2005, and holds a Master of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Josh and his wife, Laura, have been married since 2005 and have four children – Isaac, Eliana, Asa, and Asher. Josh seeks to equip students to grow as disciples of Christ by pointing them to the word of God, the church, and ministry.
Jason joined Grace in January of 2007. He graduated from Union University in 2000, and holds a Master’s degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Jason met his wife Sally while teaching children with Life Action Ministries in 1995. They were married in 1998 and have five children – Emma, Cora, Sara, Jackson, and Julia. Jason’s desire is to partner with parents in the task of raising their children for the glory of God, and to ensure that the ministry to families at Grace helps children come to know and love Jesus Christ.
Justin joined the staff at Grace in October of 2011. In the past, he has served with various non-profit organizations in cross-cultural settings and traveled to several countries sharing the gospel and partnering with long-term missionaries. He earned his Master’s degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in the spring of 2015, and was ordained into pastoral ministry in the spring on 2018. He and his wife Lucy were married in 2005 and have four children, Noah, Lilly, Isla, and Sutton. Justin has a desire to see people fall in love with Christ and be on mission both locally and globally.
Betsy Breegle joined the staff at Grace in 2017. She graduated from Lipscomb University with a degree in Elementary Education, and taught PreK through Second grade before working as the Assistant Director of a preschool for seven years. Betsy is passionate about working with children and their families. She enjoys cooking, gardening, and being outdoors with her dog, Ava.
Bill has been a member of Grace since 1994 and became responsible for the church’s bookkeeping in 2004 on a part-time basis. He joined the staff of Grace full time in December 2008 after 20 years of experience with accounting and administration in the banking industry and with the State of Tennessee. Bill is married to Julie and has two adult sons, Ben and Stephen. His role is to oversee the financial and facility operations of the church.
Jess joined staff at Grace in 2019. After graduating from Trevecca Nazarene University in 2016 with a degree in Organizational Communication, she joined Young Life staff, working to build relationships and share Jesus with local high schoolers. Jess’ role at Grace is to coordinate all communications from the church to the congregation.
Nanette became a member of Grace Community Church in 2001. She joined the church staff in April of 2009 after working as a Director of Administration for a financial services company. Nanette’s primary roles are to oversee and maintain the office operations of Grace and to provide administrative support to the Pastor, Director of Church Administration, and Director of Congregational Care. She has one adult son, Daniel, who also lives in Nashville.
