New City Catechism 2025

A catechism is a fancy word for a set of questions and answers about Bible doctrines. It is a simple, effective way to teach our children (and adults) the BIG truths of the gospel. Join us in 2025 as we jump into these questions and find out the truth that awaits us!

Week 49: December 7 – 13

Question 49: Where is Christ now? Christ rose bodily from the grave on the third day after his death and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

Ephesians 1:20–21

He raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.

For the Parent’s Heart:

  • Read and meditate on Hebrews 7:15-8:2
  • How does knowing that Christ is at the right hand of God, and ruling over his enemies an encouragement to you?
  • How does knowing that Christ is at the right hand of God, and is interceding for you an encouragement to you?

Ask Your Children:

  • Where do you think Jesus is right now?
  • Why is it important that He is at the right hand of His father?
  • What is Jesus doing right now?
  • What is Jesus waiting to do in the future?

Reminders:

  • Be sure to check out the playlists below or in the app for helpful songs that your family can listen to for help memorizing these questions and answers.
