Jan 14, 2013 Precious Gift To Our Family…
When Lindsey and I decided to move to Nashville we were newlyweds and barely 20 years old. We were moving to a city where we knew no one, and I was entering a grad school environment where it was clear my faith would be tested. In hindsight, our decision was dangerous to say the least, certainly more than we realized. But, in God’s kind providence, it became one of the most blessed decisions we’ve ever made.
Just a couple weeks before we moved some friends in Louisville told us about Grace. We visited on our first Sunday in town and we never visited anywhere else. Through the church’s teaching we were shown the beauty and power of the gospel. Through faithful modeling we were shown the way of Christ-centered, grace-filled marriage. Through the investment of the church’s leadership we had our own desires for ministry clarified and sharpened. And, as my faith was tested through my years in grad school, it was through the life of the congregation–its vibrant worship, its sacrificial love, its joyful reception of God’s Word–that the truth of the gospel was proven to me over and over. Without question, Grace Community Church is one of God’s most precious gifts to our family. Thanks be to God.
