Apr 09, 2015 Words of Grace – Glorify God in Your Body
This Sunday at Grace, we will talk about our bodies in relation to sexual sin and sexual purity from 1 Corinthians 6:12-20.
The Christian’s body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Our bodies were bought with the price of Christ’s blood. Our bodies will be raised in newness when Christ returns. Our bodies belong to God, so we glorify God with our bodies.
How we glorify God with our bodies contains some mystery. One clear way to do this is to flee from sexual immorality and pursue love in the use of our bodies.
Romans 6 is very specific in telling us to give our body parts to God for righteous use. Every body part is for the glory of God.
So, this Sunday’s sermon will be about fleeing sexual sin and glorifying God in our bodies.
Parents, this sermon will not be graphic or shocking. But there is no way to preach this passage from 1 Corinthians 6 without actually using the words in the passage and addressing the issue of sex. I encourage you to read the passage and make your own decision about your child being present. If you think it is best for your child to only attend their Sunday school class (or to attend their class twice if you are at Grace for two service hours), please feel free to make that decision.
Above all, put on love,
Scott
