Children’s Ministry

Our Purpose

The purpose of children’s ministry at Grace is to partner with parents in laying a foundation for the salvation and the building up of spiritually healthy young people for ministry in the world.

Our Vision

We want many things for our children, but these are the basics that we want to be true of every child when they leave our ministry.

  1. Love God – The first and greatest commandment is to love the Lord God with all your heart (Deuteronomy 6:5 & Matthew 22:34-40)
  2. Love God’s Word – God has revealed Himself in His word and calls us to meditate on His word day and night (Psalm 1 & 2 Timothy 3:15)
  3. Love God’s People – The true test of our love for God is seen in how we love others (1 John 4:7-21)
  4. Love All People – Our forgiveness in Christ and the gospel mission of the church compel us to love all people (Luke 10:25-37)
  5. Do Not Love Their Lives – A call to be a disciple is a call to deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow Jesus (Mark 8:34-36)

How We Serve

CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES

Our primary emphasis during this time is training up children in the word of God. Classes are offered for Infants-5th Grade during both services.

GRACE PARTNERS: WELCOMING PEOPLE OF ALL ABILITIES

Our desire is to include all children in worship and Sunday School with peers their own age, as an essential part of the Body of Christ. We have a trained team of Grace Partners ready to assist any children and youth in our classes who need special attention. We want to partner with children, families, and our teachers to train up all children in the word of God and to come alongside families who are facing challenges. If you have a child or youth that we can assist, or if you would like to be involved with our team of Grace Partners, contact Jason Miller, Pastor of Children & Families.

Know Before You Go

HEALTH AND HYGIENE

Your child should remain at home or outside of the classroom if he/she is experiencing the following symptoms:

  • fever (within the last 24 hours)
  • vomiting and/or diarrhea (within the last 24 hours)
  • unexplained rash
  • pink eye or other eye infections
  • persistent cough
  • chicken pox
  • lice
  • COVID-19 related symptoms, or close contact with someone who has COVID.

A runny nose by itself does not warrant keeping a child out of the room. However, if it is accompanied by any of the above symptoms, the child should not be checked in.

If you have any questions please contact Jason Miller.

SAFETY EMPHASIS

Because we recognize that we are a reflection of God’s love to those in our care, we take seriously our responsibility to provide a safe environment for the children who attend Grace Community Church. This includes a Child Protection Policy, under which screening of all teachers and workers takes place. For more information, read and listen to these two discussions about our safety policies and procedures:

Child Pickup Authorization Forms are available here.

Worship Service Childcare Team

God has blessed Grace with many new families and young children! Each Sunday, we need 25–30 members to care for infants through PreK during the worship service so parents can attend the Worship Service without distraction. With enough volunteers, we can serve on a 6-week rotation so no one misses often.
