“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. For God knows his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn, with many brothers and sisters.” Romans 8:28-29, NLT
“Scripture teaches me that thy active will reveals a steadfast purpose on my behalf, and this quietens my soul, and makes me love thee.” – Valley of Vision
Where does peace come from? How do we get a quiet soul? Good circumstances change like the wind. Denial is no long-term place to live, for reality can be harshest on those who run from it. People disappoint and our own strength fails us.
So, where is peace? God is the source of peace, and those who know Him and trust the goodness of His purposes can know His peace deep within.
God is active in His will. He works in all things. His working is for our good. The deeper and longer He works His will of Christ-like transformation in us, the greater our comprehension and experience of His love for us will be. And when we know God loves us to the extent He really does, we will have peace in all things. Only a radical belief in this truth can bring unshakable peace.
Sometimes good words make us mad. If these words reach you in a place where you are not able to appreciate them, be honest and admit that you simply are not ready to hear. Then return to them anyway and let the Spirit of God bring you to a place of receptivity to this truth. Be still and know that He is God, and let the peace of God rule in your heart.
Your pastor,
Scott
