Oct 04, 2026 Responding to the Word – Acts 17:15-34 – October 4, 2026
Acts 17 concludes with Paul bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ to Athens, a city filled with idols and competing ideas about what is true and how to live. Paul does not retreat from the world or become like it. He has received the Word, so he moves toward the people of Athens with the truth of the gospel. Today we will see how the Word stirs us toward the lost, separates us from the world, secures us in the truth, and saves in a broken world, calling us to respond to God’s Word with faithful obedience and trust in God’s work.
Grace Community Church exists to build spiritually healthy people for ministry in the world. One of the ways that we pursue this mission is by gathering each Sunday for corporate worship, prayer, and biblical teaching. The corporate nature of this gathering is both edifying to the believer and a witness of God’s grace to the world. Sermon speaker is Scott Patty unless otherwise noted.
