Sep 26, 2013 Words of Grace – An Invitation
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
This Sunday evening I plan to reply, “Yes, I will attend,” to the invitation of Jesus to come to him. I would like to invite you to attend with me.
We respond to the invitation of Jesus by praying. How else can we go to Jesus? He doesn’t have an address on earth. He is not physically with us. The only way we can go to him is to pray.
We respond to the invitation to come to Jesus by coming together. Jesus called “all who labor and are heavy laden” to come to him. So, let’s all go to him together.
Are you weary, sad, depressed, weak and in need to strength? Are you angry, worried, or confused? Are you burdened for a friend of family member? Are you struggling with a sin in your life that you can’t seem to shake? Do you need guidance in a situation or for a decision? Are you sick? Do you have physical, financial, or job needs? Are you involved in evangelism or ministry with someone? Do you want to pray for someone else who has needs? Do you want to sit quietly and worship the Lord?
If so, I hope you will respond to Jesus’ invitation to come and pray together.
Join me this Sunday at 6:00pm in the Pine Room for an hour of praying for each other. Childcare for Infants-Pre-K will be provided. Please contact Kim Campbell to register.
