Dec 27, 2012 Ten Thousand Graces…
There are ten thousand graces that I have experienced at Grace Community Church. One is the grace of church membership. I had no idea when we started Grace twenty years ago that I would feel as much like a member as I would the pastor.
To be pastor can often feel like leadership, and it can be lonely. As a young church planter I prepared myself for this kind of church experience. Little did I know that Grace would become more than my job, but also my church home. Being a member of Grace, and not just the pastor, means I grow, I worship, I learn, and I am pushed forward in obedience to Jesus. As a church member I have friends, I get prayed for, others challenge me, and I am loved.
I remember telling someone one day that I was a member of Grace Community Church. For a pastor to be able to say he is a member of the church he serves is a great compliment to that church, and a true gift from God.
