Praising Him…

Praising Him…

I began coming to Grace around five years ago after a pretty difficult season of disillusionment with the church. I remember that the first few weeks/months of sitting in the service were different than what I had experienced at a church before.

First, it struck me that Scott would thank God that He had kept us all in faith that week. I didn’t quite understand what he meant by that or why he said it. I would focus on trying to figure that out and miss the rest of the prayer… I also remember noticing that each week Scott would teach us the fundamentals of the gospel and the seriousness of our sin through the scripture passage he was preaching from. I’m almost embarrassed to say it, but I initially wondered if he would ever move on from that to talk about something else! Thankfully, now I see the lavish grace of God in both. Praise Him that He does keep me in faith because my sinful self would so easily wander and seek my own desires should He not pursue me so evidently.

Now I see that my heart needs to be reminded every day, and not just on Sundays, that I’m a sinner saved by this amazing grace and plan of God from the beginning. There is nothing more important. I couldn’t be more thankful for the way that my heart has experienced hope and healing here. Praise Him for this gift of His grace through Grace Community Church!
