Grace Community Church is a congregation served by a plurality of elders and a church staff. The elders serve Grace by providing vision, structure and spiritual leadership for the church. The church staff serves Grace by overseeing the ministries of the church.
Scott is the founding pastor of Grace Community Church. Before he began Grace in 1993, he served as a youth pastor for ten years. He was raised in Nashville and came to faith in Christ as a high school student. He graduated from Belmont University in 1985 and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1989. Scott is married to Beth and has two married daughters, Emily and Hannah. Scott’s primary calling in the church is to lead the congregation by casting a biblical vision for all of life through the preaching of God’s word.
Jeff has been attending Grace Community Church since 1994. After graduating from Belmont’s Music Business program, he traveled for a few years as an itinerant worship leader before being asked to join the staff at Grace as Director of Worship. He has served in this capacity since January of 2002. He is married to Kelly and has two daughters, Lucy and Ella. His aim is to encourage the body of believers at Grace through coordinating and leading corporate worship that glorifies God and is centered on the gospel.
Jason joined Grace in January of 2007. He graduated from Union University in 2000, and is continuing to work on a Master of Divinity degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Jason met his wife Sally while teaching children with Life Action Ministries in 1995. They were married in August of 1998, and have three beautiful daughters: Emma, Cora, and Sara. Jason’s desire is to partner with parents in the difficult task of raising their children for the glory of God, and to ensure that the ministry to children at Grace helps children come to know and love Jesus Christ.
Josh came to Grace in May of 2009. He graduated from Union University in 2005, and continues to pursue a Master of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Josh and his wife, Laura, have been married since 2005 and have three children, Isaac, Eliana and Asa. Josh seeks to equip students to grow as disciples of Christ by pointing them to the word of God, the Church, and ministry.
Justin joined the staff at Grace in October of 2011. In the past, he has served with various non-profit organizations in cross-cultural settings and traveled to several countries sharing the gospel and partnering with long-term missionaries. He is currently in school at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife Lucy were married in 2005. Justin has a desire to see people fall in love with Christ and be on mission both locally and globally.
Bill has been a member of Grace since 1994 and became responsible for the church’s bookkeeping in 2004 on a part-time basis. He joined the staff of Grace full time in December 2008 after 20 years of experience with accounting and administration in the banking industry and with the State of Tennessee. Bill is married to Julie and has two sons, Ben and Stephen. His role is to oversee the financial and facility operations of the church.
Nanette began attending Grace Community Church in the fall of 2000 and joined in 2001. She joined the staff at Grace Community Church in April 2009, after working as Director of Administration for a financial services company. She has a son, Daniel, who is in high school and active in the youth group. Nanette’s primary role at Grace is to oversee and maintain the office operations of Grace Community Church and provide administrative support to the Pastor, Director of Congregational Care, and Director of Church Administration.
Sondra began attending Grace Community Church after moving to middle Tennessee in 2009. She has served with Christian organizations both stateside and overseas since 1994, including the Russian Language Institute at Columbia International University in SC. She joined the church staff in March 2010 and is happy to now call Nashville home. Sondra’s main role at Grace is to provide administrative and practical support for the Director of Ministries and the Director of Worship & Communications.
Kim joined the staff at Grace in February of 2013. She has previous experience working with children and volunteers as the Elementary Coordinator at her church in Lebanon, TN. Kim earned her Bachelor’s degree from MTSU in Liberal Arts and has a Master’s degree from Trevecca Nazarene University in Early Childhood Education. She lives in Mt. Juliet with her husband, Trey, and two daughters, Madison and Megan. Kim’s function at Grace is to provide administrative assistance to the Pastor of Children & Families and the Pastor of Youth & Families.
