In 1992 God called a handful of people to begin a new church in Nashville. After several months of prayer, Bible study, and vision casting meetings, our first Sunday worship service was held in January 1993. Grace Community Church was born.

Over the years we have called many places home. We have met at Belmont University, Eakin School, Lifeway Christian Resources, and First Christian Church. Meeting in homes for Bible study, prayer, and fellowship has also been a major part of our church. In 2004, we purchased property and in 2005 we moved into our first building. God has provided a place for us to gather each week since our first Sunday.

The ministries of Grace have developed as the congregation has grown. Beginning with only Sunday worship, we now have Community Groups, Sunday School, small groups for all ages, and active ministry to men, women, students, and children. Our ministries have grown to take us outside of our church and into Nashville through outreach and service to the needy. Beyond our borders, we have developed mission partnerships in Eastern Europe, South Asia, and have sent many of our members around the world for service. As these and other ministries have grown, we have added staff and other leadership to guide and coordinate our efforts.

Perhaps the most exciting and rewarding aspect of our history has been the significant spiritual growth that has occurred in the people who have connected with us. Many of our people have come to faith in Jesus Christ while attending Grace. Others have gained new energy in their faith through teaching, worship, and stronger relationships with others.

While grateful to God for His hand in our history, we look to the future with hope that He will continue the good work He started in us.
