Life at Grace – Depression, the Gospel, and Grace Community Church

Yes, Christians struggle with depression and other mental health issues. Many at Grace Community Church struggle with depression. The gospel is for the depressed. And, we can be for one another.

Earlier this year we began a church-wide conversation about depression and other issues. Since that first depression discussion in January, I have had many people ask for a follow-up. Here it is.

On Sunday, September 21, we will hold a second discussion on depression. I will interview Tony Rose, pastor of LaGrange Baptist Church in Louisville, KY. You will have an opportunity to ask questions.

Tony Rose has decades of pastoral experience and has served many people struggling with depression. He is also the chairman of the Southern Baptist Convention’s task force on mental health, which helps churches understand how to better serve people. Tony will bring much needed wisdom to us as we consider how we will serve one another at Grace.

This discussion will be helpful to those who struggle with depression, those who love someone struggling with depression, and those who want to be a more helpful member of a church with people who struggle with depression.

I hope you will join us.

– Scott
